The strategy and skill in the play of Scarney High-Low Draw Poker involve six different betting intervals. However, it is foolish for a player at the start of the game to gauge his bets as to whether he should be anticipating a high or low hand or both. The conditions that determine a skillful player's opening bet, check, raise, or reraise, or whether to drop out, change for better or worse as the dealer turns up a pair of community cards resting in the center of the table. In this game, generally speaking, it is not unusual for a player to start out with a high cinch pat hand and wind up discarding his entire hand and possess a low cinch hand of zero points. In short, each time a pair of community cards are turned face up in the center of the table, a player must reevaluate his betting hand.
